'THE LONGEST RUNNING SPORTS CAMP ON CLAPHAM COMMON'
Julian Cousins Sports Camps was started to offer fun, progressing sports activities during the school holidays. We have been running successful sports camps at Clapham Common for over 10 years now. Partnering the team is Alberto Kurti, formerly of Oliver House School and now appointed women’s coach at Crystal Palace F.C.
My team of coaches and I offer a range of sports including tennis, football, cricket, rugby, hockey, rounders, volleyball and golf. All activities are scaled for age and abilities. Our staff are qualified sports coaches and local school teachers well experienced working with young children. Simple games and drills to encourage rapid skill development, co-ordination, footwork and teamwork, and most importantly... fun!
We follow the Ofsted guidelines on ratios and all the leaders have current DRS/CRB and safeguarding training. We will follow the Government & Sports Council instructions on Covid-19.
Mini Camp
Here creating a safe fun environment is key and we employ many local school teachers to help this. Our sports coaching programme can help develop their motor skills, team work and understanding of sports.
Junior camp
With this group we start introducing more technical elements of the sports and fun competition. Introducing sport specific vocabulary is a key part of this group.
Senior camp
We are known for our younger age care but we have a great programme for older kids. Seperate activities, dedicated coaches all make for a fun challenging day to develop their sporting skills.
The older children will develop more advanced technical and tactical elements of the sports involved. We encourage their input to ‘take ownership’ of the sessions which engages them further.

10AM REGISTRATION

SW4 9ANAfter that there will be a structured warm up before the children are separated into their age groups and assigned their coach for the first activity.
We have three separate age groups: Please note we cannot accept under 3 years of age as our insurance does not cover us. For over 12yrs we can accept without problem but do contact me first.
Mini camp 3-4 year olds
Junior camp 5-8 year olds
Senior 9-14 years old
All the games and activities will be scaled for the abilities of the groups supervised by qualified coaches. There will be regular rests and water breaks throughout the day with a supervised lunch. You will need to provide the packed lunch and water bottle. Scroll down the page to read the 'essential information'
If there is an issue e.g.. extreme weather, you will receive a further email the day prior to the camp with more information too. Otherwise all the information you need is here.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
All the activities take place within the area by and around the tennis courts. No transportation will be used. In case of poor weather we will use the pavilion to take shelter.
- Don't forget refillable water bottles, lunch and if the forecast suggests a rain jacket.
- Sun tan cream in the unlikely event of sunny weather! It is expected that you will apply suncream before the start of camp. If your child needs help in applying a top up, please advise staff at registration.
- We will take frequent water and rest breaks so don't be bemused if you see us sitting near the pavilion or under a tree for a few minutes.
- Mini-club HAVE TO BE TOILET TRAINED. We can help but we don't have the staffing time for nappies. If your child is liable to accidents(!) please supply a change of clothes.
- NO SANDALS OR OPEN TOED SHOES - NO EXCEPTIONS. Spare trainers if you have them please as the ground is currently wet and muddy.
- Please supply a nutritious lunch for an active day. Please do not give your child money to buy lunch from the cafe.
- Please NO NUTS in snacks or lunch. Please ask your child not to share any food at camp.
- Belongings will be stored at or near the pavilion. Please don't bring any valuables as we cannot accept any liability for them.
- Any questions etc please drop me a line or speak to us after registration.
- We will issue each child with a wristband for identification purposes. It would be very helpful if you explain to your child it's important to keep it on throughout the day.
- Don't forget refillable water bottles, lunch and if the forecast suggests a rain jacket.
